Modifying Type
For this project, I used the font Gill Sans to modify the eight letter word “Alacrity". Using tools such as the Type tool, Shape tools, Smart Guides, and Pathfinder in Adobe Illustrator, I changed the appearance of the word “Alacrity" six different ways. This affected the tone of the letters. The goal of the project was to change the look of the word with no regard to it's meaning while ensuring readability. Each variation I made has a different tone that could be interpreted differently from the word's true definition.
